We've set a target date of JUNE 1, 2020 for the next CHT build update (24B.01.00).
Great strides have been made (and continue to be made) in our web-blocking code.Although from what we've seen over the last 2-3 months, the attempts at "snooping" and "sniffing" of data continues unabated.
We're convinced that our web servers are THE most secure way of building data based, web applications whether CHT-Server-with-Browser-Client or CHT-Server-with-Clarion-Client.
All of the intrusion attempts hitting our servers (so far) bounce off like water from a duck.
The data theft and snooping merchants utilize a variety of script-based code mechanisms like PHP, WordPress libraries, CGI (Common Gateway Interface) and others, which are able to command the server operating system using the built-in capability of standard servers to "shell" into the operating system in order to execute and perform tasks that the server operator often may never intend it to perform.
If your organization has any SQL data tables hooked directly to an IP, and they are connecting to that IP from a remote location, with an app (Clarion or not), you are a sitting duck! Your data is ripe for the picking.
Wholesale encryption systems based on HTTPS are used as a way to funnel businesses into accepting them as "safe" when in fact, they mark these same business as having something worth hiding behind a wall of encryption, for which the keys are generally available from approved "authorization" agents.
That's a lot like storing your private information on a shelf in the public library.
Of course encryption is important. But CHT has its own ways of doing that, which do not involve giving keys and encryption techniques, away to a 3rd party, for"safe keeping" as is expected and mandated with HTTPS.
When CHT data transactions work inside HTTPS as they can do, our data transport mechanisms still encrypts INSIDE the encrypted stream provided by HTTPS.
That's enough for today. Just letting you know that, CHT is still busy improving your Clarion and data-over-the-web experience as we have been doing for the past 24 years.
